Express Entry
Express Entry is a points-based system that manages immigration applications for skilled workers who want to live and work permanently in Canada. The system is designed to attract skilled workers who can contribute to the Canadian economy.
To be eligible for Express Entry, you must:
- Be between the ages of 18 and 55
- Have at least one year of skilled work experience
- Have a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 7 in English or French
- Have a valid educational credential from a recognized institution
If you are eligible for Express Entry, you will need to create a profile and then be ranked against other applicants. The ranking system is based on factors such as your education, work experience, language skills, and adaptability.
If you are ranked high enough, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. You will then have 60 days to submit your application.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)
PNPs are immigration programs that are run by the provinces and territories of Canada. Each PNP has its own unique eligibility criteria and application process.
PNPs are designed to attract immigrants who have the skills and experience that are needed in the province or territory. Immigrants who are nominated by a PNP will receive an additional 600 points in their Express Entry score, which will make them more likely to receive an ITA.
There are over 80 PNP streams available across Canada. Some PNP streams are specifically designed for skilled workers, while others are designed for entrepreneurs, investors, and family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
